How do I start promoting?

After you sign up and are approved‚ you will log into your Affiliate Control Panel‚ and see the Getting Started section on the main page. You will select some banners and links for the things you want to promote. You’ll place them onto your own website, your Facebook or other social media posts, your social responsibility oriented listservs, and into emails you send to socially conscious friends. When a web visitor or email recipient clicks on the link or banner you used, he or she will be redirected to the web page of the company you've promoted. If this visitor buys something, you will be rewarded with a commission for this sale.

How are my commissions and successful referrals tracked?

The program is powered by Post Affiliate Network, a popular affiliate tracking software, which uses combination of cookies and IP address to track referrals. When the visitor follows your affiliate link, the software registers this referral and places a harmless cookie on his or her computer. When the visitor pays for a product, the affiliate system checks for the cookie (and if not found, it checks for the IP address of the referral) and credits your account with the appropriate commission. If you’re a volunteer, your commissions are set to 0%, but your click results and successful sales are still tracked and viewable in your control panel.

How and when will I be paid?

You can choose to be paid by PayPal, direct deposit, or check, and the commissions are paid every 60 days, after we have had time to verify any refunds.

Can I promote my Merchants through pay-per-click search engines?

YES! You can promote us through pay-per-click search engines, but you are responsible for the per click costs. Most of our Merchants pay commissions only when you make a sale (not just for traffic you generate to their site).

Do you have any training program for affiliates?

The basics of affiliate marketing and most useful tips are described in your Affiliate Panel, where you’ll also find a video tutorial. You can also learn new tips and techniques in our affiliate newsletter, issued once a month.

I’ve never seen volunteers in Affiliate Networks. What’s that about?

The team at Green Affiliates has a long history of volunteering and working for nonprofits. We often saw nonprofits needing help but lacking enough staff to properly manage volunteers. The Internet, and automated systems like this one, provide a handy way for volunteers to promote causes online, equipped with the organization’s own messaging tools, but without a lot of management. Affiliates can choose to earn commissions selling nonprofit memberships, merchandise, and event registrations – or they can forgo those commissions and volunteer, instead. It’s entirely up to you!

Merchants & Nonprofits

Is there a fee to become a Merchant or open a Nonprofit account?

Yes. Merchants and nonprofits pay an initial setup fee and an annual subscription fee. Fees vary by the level of service you need and your sales volume (see Pricing). Nonprofits have the option of a discounted setup fee in trade for inviting their members to become Green Affiliates. Our setup fees are among the lowest in the business, starting at $500 for the Bootstraps Version. Rather than a monthly minimum, we require a $250 renewal fee every year ($100 for nonprofits). And our service comes with the unbeatable value of screened affiliates (to protect your reputation) and socially responsible affiliates who are already deeply engaged in Internet communications with your niche market!

Are there other requirements?

Yes. Green Affiliates serves businesses and nonprofits committed to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. When you register, you will be asked several questions about your company, which will help us determine your suitability for the program. Please answer these questions honestly. If you misrepresent your company, you can be removed from the program.

How will I know if I’m approved?

You will receive an email within 2 weeks of your registering to be a Merchant or open a Nonprofit account.

Where do Affiliates come from?

We recruit socially conscious affiliates from a variety of sources, including the memberships of organizations where we have connections. Each of Green Affiliates’ team members have over 20 years experience in nonprofit management, green business, environmental advocacy, and volunteerism, which puts us in contact with large numbers of affiliate prospects. In addition, we encourage Merchants and Nonprofits to invite loyal customers and members to become Affiliates by directing them to GreenAffiliates.biz
